The foundation is composed of and Advisory Board, a director general, two directorates and assorted departments. The top management of the foundation comprises the director General, the Director Corporate Affairs, Director Resource Mobilization and Technical Services, and Quality Management System (QMS) manager. .
The Advisory Board is a standing board that works with the RCFSF management team. It has no legal responsibilities, is not fiduciary to RCFSF and is formed to give advice and recommendations to the RCFSF management.
.The director general's role include leadership through providing vision, direction, and motivation for the foundation's success. It involves internal and external leadership, overseeing day-to-day operations, developing operational strategies, planning, and managing employees across departments.

The RCFSF team is composed of a diverse group of experts and professionals, each bringing unique skills and extensive experience to drive our mission of empowering smallholder farmers through innovative research, sustainable practices, and strategic collaborations.
He is the founding director of the foundation. He has over 20 years of research, outreach, consulting and academia experience. He is experienced in grantmaking and multi-disciplinary/multi-stakeholder project implementations, with assorted relevant expertise in GIS, IoTs, remote sensing and spatial modelling, crop modelling, statistical analysis, and whatnot. Amongst the donors he has won grants from are the Swiss National Science Foundation, National Research Foundation, Kenya, VlirUOS-Belgium, and the World Bank. Besides research and collaboration, he is an active consultant, focusing on agro-ecosystem sustainability. Some of the clients he has worked with include AGRA (formerly Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa), the Water Services Trust Fund (WSTF) of Kenya, the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), UNDP, International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), and assorted private companies. He holds a BSc in Agriculture, an MSc in Soil Science, a PhD, and an Associate Professor of Soil Science.
He joined the advisory board in August 2024. Has a wealth of experience in grantmaking, environmental safeguards mainstreaming in developmental projects, environmental risk management, natural resources management, climate change and integrated soil fertility management and supporting governments in enhancing environmental resource governance.His experience comes from working with the World Bank, academia, and non-governmental organisations in Somalia. He has a PhD in Integrated Soil Fertility Management and an MSc in Environmental Sciences.
He joined the advisory board in August 2024. Is a seasoned soil and plant tissue laboratory technologist with rich experience spanning over 50 years in research institutions and academia. He is an industry leader in wet and dry chemistry analyses, particularly in agricultural, environmental, and water quality fields. He has a strong background in chemistry, leadership skills, quality control, technical oversight, reporting and documentation, and management of complex analytical processes. He is proficient in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and advanced analytical instrumentation. He has a BSc and a higher Diploma in analytical chemistry.
She joined the advisory board in August 2024. She is a software developer with a distinguished record in developing cutting-edge Machine Learning technologies and databases. >Her work spans various sectors, including Agriculture, Finance, and Healthcare, with notable contributions in developing plant disease detection models for agriculture forecasting systems for the finance industry, quality assessment models for the food industry and advanced AI models for healthcare applications. She is also an educator in Computer Science and holds a PhD in Computer Science.
He joined the advisory board in August 2024. He has over 17 years of executive experience in the agricultural sector, showcasing expertise in strategic planning and sustainable farming practices. He has served in various positions in the industry, such as Crop Nutritional Laboratory Services Ltd and Ocean Agriculture East Africa Ltd.He founded Smart Fertilizer East Africa Ltd, which promotes environmentally conscious agricultural practices and implements eco-friendly practices that have improved crop productivity. His expertise is in laboratory results interpretation, advisory, and laboratory information management systems operations. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Sciences and an MSc in Integrated Soil Fertility Management.
She joined the advisory board in August 2024. She is an expert in soil water conservation and applying stable isotopes in agricultural production systems. Her passion is to enhance food security through innovative research. Her strong analytical skills, commitment to excellence and lifelong learning drives and she has made significant contributions in the fields of Soil Science and Environmental Management. She is a dedicated researcher with a Master's in Land and Water Management and is currently on the tail-end of her PhD in Soil Science pursuit.
She joined the advisory board in August 2024. She has vast experience spanning over a decade in the corporate world. She is skilled in corporate leadership and Finance & Accounting operations management such as financial data analysis, budget forecasting, financial accounting processes, business process re-engineering, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control, board and management advisory, as well as accounting of utilised resources and cash flow projections. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
He is a Certified Human Resource Practitioner gazetted and licensed to practice Human Resource Management in Kenya and Commonwealth countries. He has experience spanning over 14 years in the Public service, having worked as a Civil Registrar in National Government, Personal Assistant to a County Executive Committee Member, Head of Administration and Human Resource Management at the North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) and currently, the Deputy Director Human Resource Management and Development in the County Government of Nandi. He is a seasoned practitioner with solid achievements in setting up Human Resource Systems and is passionate about Employee relations, Employee wellness programs, Performance management and Organizational Development. He holds a BSc in Human Resource Management and an MBA-Human Resource Management Option, Certified Human Resource Professional (HRMPEB) and Certificates in Banking and Financial Services, Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) and Senior Management Courses.
He joined the advisory board in August 2024. He has vast experience in consultancy and research focusing on implementing smallholder-based agricultural projects and multi-stakeholder engagement. He specialises in smallholder farming systems, soil-atmosphere exchange, modelling, soil science, statistical analysis, social sciences, integrated water resource management, sustainability, and soil fertility management. He has actively participated in implementing multi-disciplinary donor-funded projects, including those of the National Research Fund and the World Bank. He has consulted for AGRA, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe). He holds a PhD in Soil Science, an MSc in Agricultural Resource Management (Soil, Water, and Environment-Major), and a BSc in Water Resource Management.
